Privacy policy
This statement explains what data this website collects, why, and what rights you have, in line with the revised Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (in force since 1 September 2023).

What is collected, and why
Standard access data (IP address, requested page, date and time, browser type) are logged automatically by our hosting provider, GitHub Inc., to keep the site secure and running. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics for aggregate visit counts — a cookie-free tool that does not collect personal data or track individuals across sites. If you email us, we process your message and address solely to reply to you.
Recipients and transfers abroad
Two providers based in the United States are involved in running this site: GitHub Inc. (hosting) and Google LLC / YouTube (the embedded field videos, which may set their own cookies — governed by Google's privacy policy, not ours). Such transfers are made subject to the safeguards required under Swiss data protection law.
Cookies and analytics
This site does not set its own cookies. Our analytics tool, Cloudflare Web Analytics, is cookie-free and does not track visitors individually, so no consent banner is required. See Cookie settings below for details.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, or ask further questions, by writing to kizazikijacho@econ.uzh.ch. You may also contact the University's Legal Services and Data Protection department directly: Künstlergasse 15, CH-8001 Zurich — www.rud.uzh.ch/en.
Retention and version
Access logs and analytics data are retained according to GitHub's and Cloudflare's own data retention policies, not set by us directly. Contact emails are kept only as long as needed to respond, unless a longer period is legally required.
Research participant data from the Dodoma trial is governed by the study's own ethics approvals and consent forms, not by this policy. The two should not be confused.
